Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A tragic incident unfolded in Haryana's Mahendragarh as a school bus belonging to GL Public School in Kanina overturned, claiming the lives of six children and leaving 15 others injured. According to police officials, the accident occurred near Unhani village of Mahendragarh district when the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle, leading to the bus losing control and overturning. Shockingly, the school operated on a day declared a holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr.
Eyewitnesses present at the scene alleged that the bus driver was intoxicated, raising questions about safety protocols and enforcement. Senior police officials highlighted that the bus's fitness certificate had expired six years ago in 2018, indicating potential negligence in maintenance. Haryana Education Minister Seema Trikha assured prompt action, stating she had instructed authorities to initiate an investigation into the matter and ensure proper medical care for the injured students.
